President's Message

Welcome to the CLEARS Central Chapter!

Welcome to the CLEARS Central Chapter!
The Central Chapter is made up of Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Mono, Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and Kern Counties. Over 300 members representing management and supervising staff of police, sheriff and criminal justice agencies from throughout the State of California belong to CLEARS.

My name is Maribel Stinson, and I am current president for the Central CLEARS Chapter.  I would like to start by introducing myself.  I work for the Hanford Police Department, my job title is Police Support Services Administrator and I am responsible for overseeing the Records and Communications Division.  I have been in law enforcement for over 27 years.

Twenty plus years ago, I joined the CLEARS organization because my former supervisor told me that this was a great organization that was going to help me grow and network with other supervisors that had tremendous amount of knowledge.  She was absolutely correct and I will forever be grateful that she started me on the right track.  CLEARS has been a great foundation for me because it has allowed me to meet wonderful people and stay on top of the constant changes that affect those in the Records world.

Right now, all California Law enforcement agencies are trying to deal with the overwhelming work load that SB1421 has created for us and I expect the same with AB748.  We have to make sure that our legislators know the negative impact that these bills have on law enforcement agencies.  Although, CLEARS is doing a magnificent job monitoring opposing/supporting bills that impact us, I urge you to stay involve.  Let’s make sure that our voices are heard and continue to oppose bills that have a negative impact on law enforcement agencies and the way we do our jobs.
